Writer. Educator. Organizer
Rachel Isaacs Allen is a Punjabi-American writer and educator from Southern California. She lives in Brooklyn and is a graduate from the Brooklyn Writer’s Foundry MFA. A 2026 Barbara Germack Fellow, Rachel was an editor of The Foundry Review and taught Freshman Composition at St. Joseph’s University, Brooklyn.
Rachel is a typewriter poet for the Poetry Society of New York, a member of Kundiman Northeast, a Periplus Finalist, a Center for Fiction Writer Studio member, and a 2026 Writer in Residence at Cultivate in Tuscany.
She is currently revising a literary fiction novel to query fall 2026.
She is co-organizer of TBR: An Emerging Writer Reading Series, a reading series for debut and independent authors.
Her writerly obsessions are regional identity and performance, and modernizing cultural myths. Her work can be found or is forthcoming in The Masters Review, Across the Margins, A curious Moon, A to Z Movie Poetry, Creased Press.
